the ones we get here are like 4" long.
can't recall the last time I saw one though, been years.

Those antennae(sp?) are like an inch long, and they clap really loudly when they fly. I hear that clapping like it's the Jaws soundtrack.

gah..so it's something that needs to be killed with a shoe. or a hammer. cockroaches are the devil. luckily they're not quite as huge here as they are in florida..my boyfriend was disturbed by the size difference in bugs here and bugs there when we visited last month.

I read somewhere that cockroaches can survive for something like a week after losing their heads. not sure if that's true or an urban legend..probably true, knowing the nature of those damned things.

HA! Mole Crickets are great... if you hold them just right you can make their front "claws" move by squeezing them, which makes it look like it's clapping...

Then once you're done applauding, you proceed to throw it on the ground and *crunch*... a loud *crunch* too...

theres no reason to even kill a mole cricket. they're harmless. just put them back outside and let them use their little stubby hands to borrow away. its fucked up to kill harmless insects that dont screw up anything
